KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has urged the Chairman of Samajbadi Party Nepal and his former colleague Dr Baburam Bhattarai and a senior leader of the same party Ashok Rai to join his party instead of being role less in their party.

Addressing a welcome-program for the new entrants to his party in his residence at Khumaltar, Lalitpur on Wednesday, Chair Dahal suggested the leader duo Bhattarai and Rai to defect their party to join the NCP so that they can justify their presence in mainstream politics. "I even welcome Samajbadi's co-chair Upendra Yadav to NCP without indulging in any futile activity."

According to Dahal, unity among the leaders is a must to steer the country towards a new era of development through political stability and prosperity. "Fragmentation among the leaders like us doesn't help us achieve the goal of prosperity and development, therefore, I'd like to warmly welcome them to our party," he said.

Speaking during the occasion, senior leader of the party Madhav Kumar Nepal said that the NCP heartily welcomes everyone to the party. "Only NCP can guide the country towards socialism preserving and promoting national integrity and also through social, economic and cultural transformation," he said.

In recent days, NCP Chairperson Dahal has been organizing programs at his own residence to welcome the new entrants to the party.
