KATHMANDU, Aug 26: Nepal Communist Party Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has called the party's secretariat meeting for 11 am today.

The meeting to be held at the party office in Dhumbarahi is expected to resolve the heightening intra-party dispute surfaced after another Chairperson KP Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal traded barbs on Thursday during the party's secretariat meeting.

As part of his efforts to resolve the differences between Oli and Nepal, Dahal had invited leader Nepal at his Khumaltar-based residence on Friday, according to Bishnu Sapkota, a press aide to Dahal.

Dahal will also call on President Bidhya Devi Bhandari later this afternoon. The duo is expected to discuss the contemporary issues, according to knowledgeable sources.

Earlier on Thursday, Chairperson Oli had delegated power to another chairperson Dahal while entrusting the latter to convene the party's meetings in his absence. In addition to that Oli entrusted Dahal to finalize remaining tasks of the party's unification in consultation with other senior leaders of the party. Prime Minister Oli is currently in Singapore for his health check-up.
