“The influx of an increasing number of people to the party has terrorized the regressive, revisionist and imperialist forces in the country and sounded death knell for them,” said Dahal at a function in the capital while welcoming some 300 new entrants to the party.
While arguing that the country´s ongoing class struggle has reached a critical phase, he called for unity between progressive and nationalist forces to take the revolution to a new high.
He also termed the new government as the “government of the defeated” and said, “It is the mockery of democracy, constituent assembly (CA) elections and the new consciousness people have achieved.” He argued that billions of rupees was spent in the CA elections, but the “defeated ones” joined hands, sidelined the winner and formed a government. “But the hero (Maoists) will definitely win in the end,” he said.
He also highlighted the need for unity of leftist and the nationalist forces to save the independence and sovereignty of the country.
Over 300 political activists, mainly from the UML, joined the Maoist party at the function. Among those joining are former UML parliamentarian Chandra Prakash Baniya and Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Bishu Rai.
