"Let us come together, discuss and debate seriously and join forces," he said. "We have now a great opportunity to make Nepal free.”
Stating that it was possible for the communist parties in Nepal to come under a single flag, Dahal said, “Unity between us will not only strengthen the world communist movement but also help complete people´s democratic revolution in Nepal.”
Referring to the history of splits in communist parties in Nepal since 1962, he said that it is high time for all communist parties to come together.
Dahal said communist parties in Nepal started joining hands only after the success of Janaandolan I in 1990 and after Maoist People´s war that began in 1996. “
Even now there are around a dozen communist parties in Nepal. We now have communist parties ranging from largest and third largest party to very small parties in parliament,” he said
Stating that some 62 percent seats in parliament belong to communist parties, he said, “If we unite we can promulgate pro-people constitution and also bring a radical change in the Nepal. We can bring qualitative change in the country within 10 to 12 years if we take advantage of the booming economies China and India."
