KATHMANDU, Oct 18: Acting President Chairman of the Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala has said the issue of making Sujata Koirala deputy prime minister will be discussed in the party´s central working committee (CWC) and decided.

At a Deepawali greetings exchange program organized by the Nepali Congress District Work Performance Committee Bhaktapur on Sunday to mark the Nepal Sambat 1130 and Deepawali festival, he said decision would be taken in the presence of NC President Girija Prasad Koirala. [break]

The CWC will resolve the debate, and everyone should agree to it, he said.

On voices that party president did not discuss it in the party and therefore the ministers should be called back from the government, he said the CWC would decide this too.

Koirala also said the Maoist resolution motion was meaningless and NC and UML had a common stance on the president.

At the programme presided over by District Work Performance Committee Convener Mahesh Shrestha, party´s General Secretary KB Gurung and programme coordinator Bhesh Bahadur Karki also extended greetings.

Deuba blames GPK for Sujata crisis

Meanwhile, senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, blamed the party President Girija Prasad Koirala that he was mollycoddling his daughter Sujata.

Speaking at the same program, Deuba opined it was meaningless to be Deputy Prime Minister facing the flurry of criticisms.

President Koirala did not do well by promoting daughter to the DPM, he commented, adding that it would not only tarnish the image of father and daughter but also dampen the spirits of the entire party.

He further said none was consulted while making Sujata the DPM. So, I came to know the matter very late, he added. This move has sidelined the senior fellows in the party; he heaped the blame on President Koirala.

Similarly, Vice-president Prakash Man Singh opined that Sujata´s promotion to the DPM shunning the contribution of thousands of party cadres is the insult of all.

General Secretary Bimalendra Nidhi said the Nepali Congress was shouldering the task of constitution writing and settling the peace process logically.

He added that the Unified CPN (Maoist) has not returned the properties seized during conflict yet.

Also speaking at the programme presided over by District Vice-President Ganesh Man Chakradhar was party Mahasamati member Durlav Thapa.
