CWC meet entrusts NC office-bearers to pick prez, veep candidates

Kathmandu, Oct 24: The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to file candidacy to the post of President and Vice-President as well as given responsibility to its office-bearers to select candidates for the same.

A meeting of the Central Working Committee (CWC) held at International Conference Centre at New Baneshwor today decided in this regard. The next meeting of the party would decide for the candidates.

Talking to media persons after the meeting, NC Spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu said that the meeting also decided to move ahead after consulting with all parties representing in the Legislature-Parliament. 

Stressing the need of approving the constitution amendment proposal registered in the Parliament, Badu said that the meeting determined that amendment of the new constitution was indispensible to ensure the rights of indigenous nationalities, women, Dalits, Muslims and marginalized group. 

The party also suggested the government to end the unannounced border blockade soon through diplomatic way, pointing out the need of removing the shortage of daily essentials seen across the nation. RSS
