Customs body decries police intervention at customs offices

BIRATNAGAR, March 12: Chairman of the Nepal Customs Agents Federation (CAF), Jaya Shivakoti, claimed unnecessary interference by police administration in the Customs Offices in the country.



Speaking at a press conference organized by the CAF here today, CAF Chairman Shivakoti, complained that the customs agents and the business entrepreneurs face unnecessary problems when the police interfere and create different complications even in the goods that are imported after thorough examination and evaluation by customs offices.



CAF had complained to the Ministry of Finance, Department of Customs, and Chiefs of the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force following unnecessary hassles given to the customs agents in the name of check-pass. CAF stated that still there have been no changes in this practice, said customs agents.
