Critics award on Nov 22

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Film Critics Society of Nepal (FISCON) is distributing Critics award on November 22. The organization will distribute the awards for the year 2014, 2015 and 2016 together.

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Film Critics Society of Nepal (FISCON) is distributing Critics award on November 22. The organization will distribute the awards for the year 2014, 2015 and 2016 together.


Issuing a press statement, the FISCON has cited the technical reason for the suspension of the awards for three years. Best artists and technicians from seven categories including Best Film, Director, Actors and Technicians will be awarded from the films that were released during these three years.

The critics have decided the best film and artists. Among the movies released in the year 2016, Kalo Pothi has been selected as the best film of the year whereas best director to Deepak Rauniyar (Seto Surya), best script to Meen Bham and Avinash Bikram Shah (Kalo Pothi), best editor to David Walker (Seto Surya), best cinematographer to Aziz Jambakin (Kalo Pothi) best actor to Bipin Karki (Jatra) and Mao Tse Gurung (Purano Dunga) and best actress to Keki Adhikari (Love Sasa) will be awarded.


Likewise, among movies released in 2015, best film Pashupati Prasad, best director Deependra K Khanal (Pashupati Prasad), best script Khagendra Lamichhane (Pashupati Prasad), best cinematographer Shailendra D Karki (Kabaddi Kabaddi), best actor Saugat Mall (Fanko) and best actress Rishma Gurung (Kabaddi Kabaddi) will be felicitated by the award.


However, for the year 2014, the name of the winner has already been announced previously. According to which, best film Kabaddi, best director Nischal Basnet (Talakjung vs Tulke), best script Ram Babu Gurung and Upendra Subba (Kabaddi), best actor Dayahang Rai (Kabaddi), best actress Priyanka Karki (Suntali), best cinematographer Andra Belisiya (Suntali), best editor Banish Shah and Milan Shrestha (Tandav) and best background score Jason Kunwar (Talakjung vs Tulke) will be awarded.


“Due to the technical reason we could not organize the award since three years, so we are giving away the award of three years”, said Yagyas, chairperson FISCON and added that this award will help in promoting Nepali movies with the best story.
