KATHMANDU, Nov 22: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the crimes against human rights that were carried out in the insurgency period in Nepal cannot be forgiven easily.

Oli said that the CPN-UML will work toward a prosperous society and sustainability through truth, justice, fulfillment, and a transformational peace process. He also clarified that the CPN-UML is in favor of completing the peace process by addressing transitional justice from all ends. Taking lessons from past conflicts, Oli said that his party is determined to fully guarantee all the factors including the establishment of truth and the fulfillment of justice to ensure that the conflict would not be repeated in the future.

Meanwhile, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that an investigation on the shortcomings of the armed conflict will be conducted to find and make the truth public. Stating that the issue is also a matter of the state and not just for the government, Dahal said that the ruling alliance and the opposition parties stand together on the issue.
