CPN- UML organizes workshop on Nepal's development in Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU, March 25: The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), one of the constituent departments of CPN UML, has organized one day workshop on Development and Prosperity on Saturday at Kathmandu School of Law located in Bhaktapur district.

KATHMANDU, March 25: The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), one of the constituent departments of CPN-UML, has organized one day workshop on Development and Prosperity on Saturday at Kathmandu School of Law located in Bhaktapur district.


At the workshop, Former finance minister and UML leader Surendra Pandey presented a paper on Nepal’s model of development. “The issues raised in the past have been irrelevant now. Land should not be distributed now. The government should own it”, the paper presented by Pandey states.

The commentators of  his paper were chairman of SAARC Chamber of Commerce Suraj Baidhya, Economist Dr Bijaya Paudel, sociologist Hari Sharma, lawyer Yuwaraj Sangraula and sociologist Dr Suresh Dhakal.


Former vice-chairman of Nepal Planning Commission(NPC) Yubaraj Khatiwada was another paper presenter at the workshop. He presented a paper entitled "Nepal’s Economic Development : Challenges and Oppostunities".


Technology expert Mahabir Pun, agriculture expert Dr Durgadat Dhakal, tourism expert Prachandaman Shrestha, hydropower expert Suryanath Upadhyaya and Banker Chandra Dhakal had made critical comments on his paper.
