KATHMANDU, Dec 20: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has reiterated the unification between the UML and CPN (Maoist Center) at a time when the speculations are being made on how unification course between the two parties will move ahead in the days to come.

“CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) will unify in the near future,” Oli said at a program organized to congratulate the newly elected lawmakers from the left alliance.

“Anti-unification forces are playing active roles to foil our party merger plan,” Oli said, urging the lawmakers to stand united for unification campaign without bickering over petty matters.

He firmly stated that the two parties will unify arguing that the left alliance came into being spontaneously, not by force. He also expressed belief that the other fringe parties will also join the UML-led main stream politics.

Meanwhile, he urged all the party rank and file to actively participate in the unification drive saying that it has triggered positive vibes across the nation.

Oli said that the upcoming communist government will fulfill the promises made before the people during the election campaigns.

However, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal remained absent in the program.

Also speaking on the occasion, Maoist Center Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said the time has come for the communist parties to move ahead in unison.
