Due to the lack of ventilators at the hospital, he was referred to BP Koirala Institute of Health Science (BPKIHS) for further treatment.

According to the chief of the Provincial Hospital, Dr Jamun Singh, the youth breathed his last while being taken to BPKIHS. “The dead body will be cremated according to the COVID-19 protocol.”

“We have only two ventilators at the Provincial Hospital and our COVID-19 dedicated level-2 hospital doesn’t have even a single one,” he added.

The lack of equipment is posing threats and challenges for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in hospitals.
