KATHMANDU, Aug 27: A 55-year old male has succumbed to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease at KIST Hospital in Lalitpur on Wednesday evening.
According to Chief Operating Officer at the Hospital Amish Pathak, the patient had pneumonia and was on ventilator support. “The patient also had excessive fever,” said Pathak.

A permanent resident of Kathmandu, the patient was admitted to the hospital on August 23 and was tested COVID-19 positive on August 25. As of Thursday, the country has already recorded 175 COVID-19-related deaths, with at least 14,739 active cases.
