KATHMANDU, August 1: Nepal recorded 895 new cases of COVID-19 along with 264 recoveries and one death from the virus on Monday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population.
As many as 5,909 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 632 PCR and 263 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.
There are currently 5,275 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,792 are in self-isolation, 142 in institutional isolation, 336 in ICUs and five on ventilators. So far, 11,968 people have died from the virus across the country.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 456 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. Among them, 373 were reported in Kathmandu, 66 in Lalitpur and 17 in Bhaktapur districts. The total vaccine administered has reached 49,425,113 in the country.
