COVID-19 caseload crosses 6,000 mark in Province 1

BIRATNAGAR, Sept 26: The COVID-19 caseload surpassed 6,000 in Province 1 on Saturday.  According to the latest updates released by the Corona Information Desk of the province, a total of 6,149 new cases (4,318 males and 1,931 females) have been reported in the province as of Saturday.

 BIRATNAGAR, Sept 26: The COVID-19 caseload surpassed 6,000 in Province 1 on Saturday.  According to the latest updates released by the Corona Information Desk of the province, a total of 6,149 new cases (4,318 males and 1,931 females) have been reported in the province as of Saturday. 


Meanwhile, the number of patients discharged from hospitals after recovery is  also increasing. As of Saturday afternoon, 2,656 people (2,037 males and 619 females) have recovered from this viral disease in the province.

There are a total of 382 quarantine centers in the 14 districts of the province that include 8,883 beds. Similarly, 24 isolation centers with 1,110 beds are operational in the province. 


The Province 1 government has set up seven holding areas with 1,591 beds for people returning from abroad. Four laboratories, one each in Dharan and Jhapa and two others in Biratnagar have been set up to carry out polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests in the province.
