Court slaps jail term on Indian duo

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: The Special Court on Thursday slapped one-year jail term each on the two Indian nationals, who were caught in possession of NRs 2.84 million in cash in Dhanusa last October.



Sunil Jaisawal, 62, and Shrawan Sah, 35, both of whom hail from Jayanagar Municipality-8, of Madhuwan district, Bihar were found guilty after they could not establish legitimate sources of the money. [break]



Apart from the jail term, the SC has ordered to confiscate the amount they were carrying and slap an additional NRs 1.92 million on Jaiswal and NRs 0.92 million on Sah in fine.



A squad of Nepal Armed Police Force had arrested the Indian duo at a railway station in Deuri Prabhaha of Dhanusa district on October 14.
