corporate activities: Kumari Bank marks 15th anniversary

KATHMANDU, April 11: Employees’ Union of Kumari Bank has organized a “Blood Donation Program” on the occasion of the bank’s 15th anniversary. Issuing a statement, the bank said 62 people, including the bank’s staff, shareholders and customer, donated blood. The bank’s chairman Santosh Kumar Lama handed over tokens of love to donors. The bank has been providing banking services through 36 branches, 2 extension counters and 46 ATMs, it said.

Api Power Company to invest in Trishuli Galchhi project



KATHMANDU, April 11: Shareholders of Api Power Company Ltd have approved a 1:2 rights issue. After holding its first special annual general meeting on Saturday, the company announced that it would invest the funds collected from rights issue in the 75 MW Trishuli Galchhi project in Trishuli River. The 8.5 MW Naugadh Hydropower project developed by the company has been in operation since mid-August 2015 while the under-construction 8 MW Upper Naugadh is expected to be completed by November 2017, Api Power said. The company has projected it will earn Rs 120 million in net profit in the current fiscal.

KATHMANDU, April 11: Nepal SBI Bank and Employees Provident Funds (EPF) have been awarded the Industrial Peace Award 2016, managed by the Financial Institutions Employees Union of Nepal (FIEUN). Issuing a statement on Sunday, Nepal SBI said the award is given a private sector and a public sector enterprise in recognition of sound industrial relations and human resources practices and management. Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Chiranjibi Nepal felicitated Nepal SBI Bank Ltd with the award as the top private sector enterprise at an event held recently. Employees Provident Funds (EPF) received the award in public sector enterprises category. FIEUN is an umbrella organization of employees working in the financial sector, including NRB officers.


Etihad Airways recognizes 17 firms with ‘Travel Trade Recognition Awards’


Etihad Airways recently organized the Etihad Travel Trade Recognition Awards, which recognizes its top travel partners in Nepal for their support and performance. Issuing a statement, Etihad Airways said it awarded 17 such trade partners as an acknowledgement of the contributions made by them toward the success of Etihad’s operations in Nepal. During the event, the airline’s general manager for Nepal Pawana Shrestha said: “Our success in Nepal is a direct result of our partnership with our agencies and agents in Nepal. Etihad has always had a strong focus on our relationships with our travel partners and with the Travel Trade Recognition Awards, we would like to reward their support; and thank them for their contributions in making Etihad Airways one of the most preferred airlines in the country today.” Rupakot Tours & Travels, Sealinks Travels & Tours, Bon Travels & Tours, Himalayan Travel & Tours, Society Travel Service, among others were among the recipients of the award.


Yeti Dev Bank provides scholarship worth Rs 25,000


Yeti Development Bank has provided a scholarship of Rs 25,000 through Bhimodaya Higher Secondary School of Kalika municipality in Chitwan. Issuing a statement, the bank said its Narayangadh branch manager Birendra Kumar Chaudhary handed over a cheque for the amount to the school management at an event organized to mark the school’s 45th anniversary.
