Cops, protestors clash in Dailekh; four injured

SURKHET, Dec 29: At least four people were injured when supporters of Rastriya Janamorcha Party (RJM) on Tuesday clashed with the police in Dailekh during the Bheri-Karnali banda called by the RJM to protest federalism.



The clash ensued after banda enforcers tried to disrupt Bachelor´s level examinations being conducted at Tribhuvan Higher Secondary School.



According to party sources, cadres including Khem Raj Regmi, Kabiraj Khatri, Purna Bahadur Shahi and Amar Nepali were injured in the clash. Party´s district Chairman Yam Ram Adhikari claimed that the cops thrashed the party cadres after they were arrested.



However, Chief District Officer Bal Dev Gautam claimed that no one was injured in the incident. He said that the police had only tried to disperse the banda enforcers after the latter tried to disturb the examinations.



The examination, which was scheduled to begin at 12 in the noon, was delayed by an hour due to the disturbance.
