KATHMANDU, July 19: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Shah has stressed the need to ensure effective coordination among related sectors to intensify works related to infrastructures.

He expressed dissatisfaction over the delay seen in repairing the blacktop road damaged to lay water supply pipes in Ward No. 13, 14, 15 and 26.

During a meeting with stakeholders working in the sector of infrastructure development in the KMC, Mayor Shah questioned the office bearers of the Kathmandu Valley Drinking Water Ltd as to how long does it take to lay drinking water pipes in Ward Number 2 and Ward Number 5 of KMC.

Officials at the Nepal Electricity Authority were also asked as to when the electric wires strewn on the road in different places including Ranibari, Baluwatar, Bishalnagar, Dhumbarahi, Handigaon, Maligaon, and New Bus Park would be managed properly.

Officials said the blacktopping of the roads damaged for laying drinking water pipes could not happen on time due to the rainy season.

Mayor Shah also pointed out the need to improve individual and institutional behavior for urban management. He said that the change in the behavior of service providers could help improve urban facilities.
