BAGLUNG, April 10: The construction of Burtibang substation, which started five years ago, has reached the final stage of completion. This 132 kV substation aims to link West Baglung with the central transmission line via Motipur in Kapilvastu, Sandhikharka in Arghakhanchi, Tamghas in Gulmi, and Paudi Amarahi in Burtibang.

Manoj Chaudhary, head of the '132 kV Burtibang Substation Project', said that the work of the substation under construction in Khaltubot, Dhorpatan Municipality-2 is 80 percent complete. He said that with the completion of the construction, there are plans to conduct testing at the Tamghas substation in Gulmi on May 1, followed by tests at the Paudi Amarahi and Burtibang substations in mid-June.

Project head Chaudhury said, "Construction efforts are underway, and the substation and transmission line installation are progressing well. We aim to conduct tests by mid-June if there are no technical impediments. The construction company has committed to completing the project by June." The remaining work primarily involves fieldwork, with simultaneous testing planned at the Paudi Amarahi and Burtibang sites.

While the central transmission line has connected the headquarters Baglung Bazaar and its surrounding areas, the western region of Baglung District is yet to be linked. The Nepal Electricity Authority's Baglung distribution center has prioritized expanding the line to the district's western areas. Efforts are underway to install poles and lay wires in Nisikhola, Tamankhola, and Dhorpatan municipalities, ensuring broader connectivity.
