"Athletics track, playground, parapet and all other infrastructure will be ready in four days," said Arun Upadhyaya, chief of construction and maintenance department of NSC. [break]
"Other remaining works will be done after the games. But spectators can sit on the parapet during the games," Upadhyaya said.
Earlier, the deadline for construction of parapet was set for January 29.
NSC Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama said that the preparation for the games is almost complete and the event will take place as scheduled from February 26- March 4.
"As per the agreement with the contractor, the covered hall was supposed to have a wooden floor but the floor is covered with plywood. I will discuss this with the engineer and ask contractor to replace it with wood," Lama said.
According to Engineer Raju Shrestha, the construction of basketball court and kabaddi pitch was completed while volleyball and soft tennis court is yet to constructed. The construction of court will finish within three days, Shrestha said.
Paralympic from May 14
National Sports Council has decided to hold five-day long Para Olympic from May 14 to 18 in the capital for the differently abled. According to a press statement issued by the National Sports Council (NSC), a 14-member committee under the coordination of NSC member Indra Bahadur Thing has been formed to organize the event.
Other members of the committee include officials of Nepal Paralympic Committee, National Paralympic Sports Association, Nepal Disable Association, Para Sports Association, National Disable Women Association and National Disable Sports Concern Center.
