Consensus must to end political impasse: Sitaula

KATHMANDU, Aug 29: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said that no consensus could be forged as the top leaders of the political parties did not rise above selfish interests for national interest.



Releasing a book ´NSU in movement´ written by student leader Dharma Dev Fulara at a function organized by the Nepal Students Union, School Coordination Committee, Doti on Wednesday, he said the country is like a river blocked by a landslide, and there needs to be political will to open the flow and accused the UCPN (Maoist) of running the country from status quo. NC Central Member and Student Department Chief Nawindra Raj Joshi said the leadership had no courage and there is no alternative to coming down from the rigid stances.



NSU Ex-President Pradip Paudel said achievement of the democratic movement was not safeguarded and crisis was deepening.



NC Doti President Bir Bahadur Balayar said egoism had weekend the party whereas NC Doti Ex-President Bharat Khadka, NSU Ex -Vice Chairman Ganesh Bhatta, Kundan Raj Kafle, Baldev Timilsina and Baldev Thapa called for unity in the party.
