Speaking at a function in Dhangadhi, Gautam claimed that the new government to be formed under Khanal´s leadership would be acceptable to the UCPN (Maoist) and Nepali Congress.
"The NC has already said that it won´t accept a Maoist-led government," Gautam said, adding, "If NC does not accept Maoist-led government, the Maoist will also not accept the government led by NC."
Gautam claimed that the Maoists will accept Khanal as a new prime minister considering him close to the Maoist party. Gautam said that the peace process and the task of constitution-writing cannot be completed by isolating the Maoists.
