Confessions of a Chocoholic

alt=
By No Author

A piece of chocolate just melted in my tongue
“No oxygen but more choco,” screams my lungs.
Oh dear chocolate, what have you done to me,
Everywhere I turn I just see your silhouette?
Your son ‘Dairy Milk’ is my all-time favorite
And therefore in him, I find a true mate.

I will deliver on my election promises: PM Dahal

But he’s too short and people often point it out as a flaw
Though many like him because of the sweetness they saw
Her daughter ‘Dairy Milk Silk’ is more popular
As she’s finger-licking worth
She just says, ‘Kiss me’ and fills the world with a new mirth
Her siblings ‘Crackle’ and ‘Roasted Almond’ try to compete with her
And that’s where steps in ‘Fruit And Nut’
As their mentor, guide and teacher
Indeed, Dairy Milk’s family is very rich and modest still
But I have a huge crush on your other son, ‘Bournville’.
His son ‘Rich Cocoa’ is so dark and smart
And even ‘Mocha Almond’ and ‘Hazel Nut’ occupy a special place in my heart
Bournville’s family is often termed as bitter or mean
But ah! It’s always towards a criminal that the girls lean
‘5 Star’ and ‘Bar-one’ also play important roles
But it’s always ‘Bournville’ and ‘Dairy Milk’ that tempt my soul
‘Mars’ and ‘Snickers’ are important, too
But ‘Bournville’ and ‘Dairy Milk’ are the best of you
Now, my reason for writing this letter has to be stated
Because the greatest of all are you, dear chocolate – so sweet
and sophisticated
I had been to see a dentist today.
“Cavity,” he shrieked.
“No more chocolates” is all I heard him say.
And so I’ve decided to eat no more chocolates now
And you have to help me as I really want to keep my vow
I may love your sons but you are God to me
Whenever I’m sad, a new beginning you make me see
Being with you gives me an inner satisfaction – a beautiful feeling
And you’ve become essential for my living
I cannot think about a life without you
There will not be a new day to look forward to
I realize, while I was writing I was sharing my sorrow with your sons
I see 10 wrappers scattered around
I try to find a bar of you but I find none
My tears now fail to hide
I’ve been holding the last cube of ‘Rich Cocoa’
And I quickly pop it inside
My effort has been in vain
Nobody favored me
Neither you nor my fate
But I had a nice chat with you, dear chocolate!
