Amidst the hustles and bustles of Khicha Pokhari, the opening of Condom House Private Limited took place last week where celebrities and socialites showed up to share how contraceptives are a must for safe sex practices and to prevent unwanted sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

When one can purchase different brands of condoms at pharmacies and at pan pasal-s , the opening of Condom House came as a surprise, and raised questions like what specifically is it going to do, apart from selling condoms, and will those Nepalis who even hesitate visiting pharmacies for contraceptives will come to a shop to buy them that has a huge hoarding board that reads “Condom House”?
Yuvaraj Neupane, the proprietor, explained that his whole idea is to change the perception in people towards safe sex practices.
“Yes, people are shy to talk about sex in the open, and they find it odd to buy condoms at public places. We have to change this idea,” he shared and highlighted how Condom House has varieties of brands, mostly not found in Nepal, and are more affordable than what are available at any other medical stores.
“Condom Houses are common in European countries. However in Asia, it’s still a new phenomenon. The main objective of Condom House is to bring together the most safe and fascinating condoms from all over the world and give the customers satisfying choices. Sex should not just be safe, there should be pleasure, too. Our idea is to give our customers both.”

Neupane claims that most condoms already available in town are sold at higher prices at pharmacies. And Condom House will provide international quality condoms in very affordable ranges.
The major attractions of the outlet are super vibrating, super dotted, extra flavored and extremely thin condoms which are mainly from Japan, Singapore, India, Malaysia, and Thailand. Besides, there are also different brands of female condoms available. To name a few, they are Skinless Skin, Durex, Cobra, French Kiss, Okomoto, Dot Hot, Super Thin, Kamasutra, Okamoto Crown, and Vicon.
The prices of condoms range from Rs 10 to Rs 500, depending upon the brands and quality labels.
