KATHMANDU, Jan 1: A book compiling foreign policy speeches made by former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, in various national and international forums, was released amidst a function held in the capital on Sunday. Minister for Defense, Bhimsen Das Pradhan and Minister for Irrigation Sanjaya Gautam jointly released the book-- Nepal's Foreign Policy: From Expediency to Pragmatism-- at a function organized by B P Koirala Memorial Trust to mark the National Reconciliation Day.
The book edited by Dinesh Bhattarai, who worked as Koirala's foreign relations adviser, has compilation of late Koirala's major speeches in his capacity as prime minister mainly on the theme of Nepal's foreign policy.
Additionally, editor Bhattarai has included a long introduction that highlights various issues pertaining to Nepal's foreign policy including its domestic foundation and ways to strengthen foreign policy establishment. The book published by B P Koirala Memorial Trust also includes collection of photos of Koirala's engagements at various foreign policy events and his meetings with world leaders among other resources.
