KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Applications are now open for the post of chairman of the Board of Directors of Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA).
A recommendation committee formed for the appointment to the position of NIA Chairperson on Friday issued a notice to submit applications for the post. According to the notice, the eligible candidates can submit their applications within 15 days.

The position of Chairman has been vacant since the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case against the NIA Chairman Surya Prasad Silwal.
Currently, the director representing the Ministry of Finance at the NIA is serving as the acting chairman.
According to the notice, candidates aspiring for the position of NIA Chairperson must have at least a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification in fields such as insurance, monetary policy, banking, economics, management, public administration, statistics, mathematics, or law. Additionally, they must have a minimum of five years of work experience at a senior management level in the relevant field.
