DHANUSHA, May 17: Chief Minister of Province No 2, Lal Bahadur Raut has appealed to the UN Agencies for their support in the prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic. He also sought their help for the treatment of those infected with COVID-19 in the province.
At a discussion held at CM’s official residence at Janakpur on Monday, Chief Minister Raut called for the support of UN Agencies to ensure availability of ventilators, oxygen gas supplies, medicines, human resources and vaccines against Covid-19.

Chief Minister Raut complained that the State No 2 had not received much of the UN assistance to Nepal to fight against the pandemic. He also during the health crisis like this and urged the UN Agency’s representatives in the State for their positive intervention towards this end.
The Chief Minister Raut also extended his gratitude towards the UN for its support to contain the pandemic and expressed confidence that the UN Agencies in Nepal would continue their support even in the days ahead.
Those participated in the discussion included senior officials of the provincial government and its agencies, Minister for Social Development Nawal Kishore Shah, Chief Attorney Dipendra Jha and Vice-chair of the Province Policy and Program Commission Dr Bhogendra Jha. Jitendra Jung Karki of United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), Dr Surendra Shukla of WHO, Pankaj Lal Singh of IOM, Ashok Kumar Jha of UNICEF and Narendra Mishra of UNFPA were among those participating in the discussion program
