Clash at a polling station in Sarlahi

SARLAHI, May 13: Police fired six rounds of bullets in the air to bring the situation under control after a clash erupted at the Veterinary Service Polling Station in Dhankaul village of Sarlahi district.

SARLAHI, May 13: Police fired six rounds of bullets in the air to bring the situation under control after a clash erupted at the Veterinary Service Polling Station in Dhankaul village of Sarlahi district.


The clash took place after there was an argument between Nepali Congress and CPN-UML supporters over the issue of having a representative at the polling station.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Prabin Pokharel, the cadres of both the parties fled after the police fired aerial shots. Security personnel have been mobilized extensively around the polling center.


SP Pokharel said that the situation is normal now but voters have not come to cast their votes after the clash.
