Speaking at a Reporters Club Nepal program in the capital, Poudel said the prime minister has recently held several rounds of talks with the chief justice with regard to the latter’s assuming premiership and claimed that the chief justice has never said that he is not ready to lead election government. “The chief justice has never said that he would not (be the new executive head). The prime minister went to his residence and held talks even today morning,” Poudel said. “There is no problem, unlike as rumored outside.”
Poudel also said former Election commissioners and experts upon consultation recently told the prime minister that it is tenable to hold new elections within a hundred days and said new polls before May-end are still very much a possibility if the parties agree for that right now.
