KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Civil Society, too, said that appointment of the sitting chief justice (CJ) as the prime minister of the country will be a big blunder.

Issuing a joint press statement on Thursday, Damanath Dhungana, Birendra Mishra, Charan Prasai, Kanakmani Dixit and Sushil Pyakurel said the appointment will not go well with the Interim Constitution. [break]

"The appointment of a person with a responsibility of establishing rule of law in present transitional period as the prime minister will undermine freedom of judiciary, Interim Constitution and human rights. We ask the political parties to make a judicious decision," the statement reads.
