'Citizen Rally' demanding an end to present crisis

KATHMANDU, Nov 28: A 'Citizen Rally' was held from Maitighar mandala to New Baneshwor on Saturday demanding an end to ongoing Madhes protests and Indian blockade through dialogues.

The rally organized by Citizen Network was also participated by former prime minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Hisila Yami, UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chair Narayankaji Shrestha,and literature Khagendra Sangraula, among others.The participants of the event demanded an immediate end to the Madhes unrest, fulfillment of basis needs of the earthquake victims, formation of National Reconstruction Authority, stop to the misuse of public property, an end to black marketeering and smooth supply of daily essentials.

The objective of organizing the procession was to remind the government of its responsibility towards the people and create pressure for resolving the current political problems as soon as possible, the organizing body said.
