Acting on complaints about unnecessary hassles from victims, including demands for bribe by airport staff, the CIAA has issued a three-point directive.
A press release issued Monday states the CIAA has directed to the three government agencies to provide written reasons to the passengers in case they detect faults in the travel documents possessed by the passengers, a press release issued Monday says. “The practice of denying passengers to cross the immigration point through verbal orders should be stopped totally,” the release says.
The CIAA has directed employees at the TIA to wear uniform with pockets. This is aimed at curbing incidents of theft at the airport, states the release.
The CIAA has also directed airport staff to stop passengers possessing illegal papers from traveling abroad.
