According to a statement issued by the anti-graft body, NEA official Ramshanker Paswaan was arrested while receiving the kickbacks. After receiving the amount, Paswaan had given it to another NEA official, Atmaraj Dangol.
Supervisor at NEA Malangawa Distribution Centre, Mohan Kumar Singh, has also been nabbed for helping Pawaan receive kickbacks, the CIAA said. The CIAA has started investigating Paswaan, Dangol and Singh after taking them into custody.
Meanwhile, the CIAA has filed a charge sheet at the Special Court against Forest Officer Saroj Kumar Pandey and Assistant Forest Officer Tikaram Panta for demanding/receiving Rs 50,000 as bribes for assurances of settling a pending case related to the illegal transport of timber.

According to the CIAA statement, Panta handed over the bribe amount to one Yam Prasad Rijal.
The commission has charged Forest Officer Pandey and Assistant Forest Officer Panta under Section 3 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 2002 and sought a total of Rs 25,000 as fines from the accused. In yet another case, a charge sheet has been filed at the Special Court against Health Officer Mahesh Shah of District Health Office, Rautahat for submitting a fake intermediate level certificate of the Bihar Intermediate Education Council, Patna for the purpose of initial appointment and promotion.
The CIAA has filed the charge sheet seeking maximum punishment under the anti-graft laws.
