KATHMANDU, July 8: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against Sangita Kumari Sah, an eighth-level employee of Homeopathic Medicine at Mahottari Provincial Ayurveda and Alternative Hospital, on the charge of obtaining her appointment letter by submitting a fake certificate.


According to the commission, various cases have been filed against her based on evidence that she submitted a fake certificate to secure her eighth-level position in Ayurveda and alternative medicine, a post that was recently filled at the hospital. On Monday, the CIAA filed a case demanding action against her under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 BS.

The commission began investigating her after receiving a complaint regarding her certificate. During her appointment process, she had submitted a certificate from the Bihar Sanskrit Shiksha Board.


On Monday, the Special Court demanded that she be sentenced to jail and fined as per Section 16 (1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 BS. The charge sheet was filed in Kathmandu, citing her receipt of privileges, benefits, and facilities through fraudulent means.
