“Charter accountant Bhanu Kandel and Company Director Lal Babu Kawari have been arrested on the evidence that they have taken 2 million rupees as kickback while preparing the audit report,” Deputy Attorney General and Spokesperson of the CIAA Shreedhar Sapkota said in a statement issued on Wednesday. Aside from Kandel and Sapkota, arrested officials involved in the case are Shiva Shrestha, Mrs Bindu Sharma and Abid Ali.
The Office of the Company Registrar had appointed the officials in order to inspect the financial condition of Chitwan Medical College.
Charter Accountant Kandel is associated with Anamnagar-based Bhanu Associates Consultancy.
