Earlier, the DDC has also imposed tax on the export of vegetables, fruits, herbals and bones, horns and feet of animals for meat.
Some of the contracts signed earlier to this effect have also been scrapped with the mounting pressure by farmers in the latest days, informed Local Development Officer, Basanta Adhikari.
The DDC has already signed agreement of Rs. 1 million for the contract to collect taxes from horn, skeleton and feet while Rs 10 million was agreed for vegetable and Rs. 5 million for herbals.
The decision was taken by all party meeting including the representatives of 11 political parties based in the district.
However, altogether nine barricades set up for the collection of road tax in various parts of the district has not been removed.
The budget speech for the fiscal year 2068-69 BS has clearly stated that there will be no barricades in the road for tax collection.
