Chitup Dorji has been awarded the Nagarik Nayak 2079

KATHMANDU, April 24: Social Activist Chitup Dorji has been awarded the Nagarik Nayak (citizen hero) by Nepal Republic Media, amid a special event organized on the occasion of NRM’s 14th Anniversary.

Dorji was honored with the title for his contribution in establishing the Himalayan Education Foundation and Development in Simikot, Humla, an organization focused on introducing mobile schools in the villages and encouraging parents of visually impaired and the differently-abled children to send them to school.

Dorji also provided educational materials for those who could study in the village.

Nepal Republic Media honored him in a program organized on Sunday on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of its establishment.
