LALITPUR, May 16: Mayoral candidate Chiri Babu Maharjan from the ruling coalition who is also a member of the Nepali Congress (NC) is leading the election held for the post in Lalitpur by a significant margin. 


Chri Babu has been in the lead since the beginning of the vote counting. He has received a total of 4,121 votes so far, while his closest rival Hari Krishna Maharjan from the CPN-UML has received 1,811 votes, giving a lead of over 2300 votes to Chiri Babu.

Similarly, another candidate for the post, Asta Bahadur Maharjan from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)  has received 326 votes.
