The Chinese national has been identified as Li Nigsi. He was arrested upon his arrival at the TIA. Police have launched an investigation. However, the custom authorities have yet to confirm whether the seized yellow metal is gold or not.

Gold smugglers seem undeterred by frequent seizure of the undeclared precious yellow metal at the TIA in the recent times, according to authorities at the country's only international airport. Gold smugglers have continued to pass gold through TIA despite strict security checks at the TIA.
