The envoy will reach Tange by road vehicle and then walk to Chhoser.
Upon arrival at Mustang airport from Pokhara, he held discussions with security officials about the security situation in the district. He was particularly interested in activities in the border areas.
Security officials said they were at the airport along with Chief District Officer (CDO) Umesh Kumar Dhakal to welcome the envoy. Chief of Mustang District Police Office Ram Bahadur Thapa said the envoy headed towards upper Mustang following a conversation about his visit.
Thapa said they have made security arrangements for the envoy.
CDO Dhakal said they asked the envoy for support for the construction of a covered hall in Jomsom. “The envoy is positive about our request. There was no discussion on other subjects,” he said.
According to Subarna Bista of Dibya Deep Higher Secondary School Management Committee, the Chinese government provided Rs 5.7 million for the construction of a building meant for a science and computer lab. The envoy had come there in the second week of March to hand over the cash for the construction work.
Prior to this, the Chinese envoy had provided Rs 2 million to Taklung Lower Secondary School in the district. Likewise, the Chinese government also provided rice, salt and sugar worth about Rs 6 million, according to Local Development Officer in Mustang Mani Kumar Gyawali.
Locals say the Chinese government appears to have stepped up interest in Mustang district in the wake of growing investment there by the Indian government.
Sood to visit Solukhumbu

DHARAN, Oct 5: Indian ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood is flying to Solukhumbu district on Wednesday.
The envoy is scheduled to reach Khumji village to lay the foundation stone for a drinking water supply project in the village. The Indian embassy in Kathmandu has allocated Rs 39.5 million for the drinking water project.
The envoy will reach Salleri on Wednesday and lay the foundation stone for the drinking water project in Khumju on Saturday.
