Chinese ambassador and Foreign Minister Mahat hold meeting

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: Ambassador of China to Nepal, Yu Hong met with Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat at the latter's office in Singha Durbar today.

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: Ambassador of China to Nepal, Yu Hong met with Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat at the latter's office in Singha Durbar today. 


This is the first meeting of the Chinese ambassador with Foreign Minister Mahat after her appointment recently.

In the meeting discussions were held on matters of bilateral relations and mutual benefit. On the occasion, talks were also held on the implementation of the different understandings reached between Nepal and China in the past. 


The visit of the Chinese President to Nepal also figured in the talks. Minister Mahat said that Nepal was looking forward to welcoming the Chinese President at the earliest. 


"We want to welcome President Xi Jinping soon and we are making necessary preparation for the same," he said.


During the meeting, Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahat reiterated that Nepal is committed to the 'One-China' policy, said Yek Raj Pathak, Minister Mahat's public relations and press coordinator. RSS
