KATHMANDU, July 22: The steady stream of high-ranking leaders from the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) in Nepal continues, signifying the growing significance of Nepal-China relations.

Merely a week after Liu Jianchao, the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, launched the 'Silk Roadster' in Kathmandu, another prominent Chinese delegation is set to land in Kathmandu on Sunday.

China's top official responsible for Nepal affairs, Sarala, has arrived in Nepal to make necessary preparations for the upcoming visit of the Chinese delegation. Notably, Sarala, a diplomat from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has adopted a Nepali name for her engagement with Nepal.

Upon her arrival in Kathmandu on Saturday, Sarala has a busy schedule of meetings and visits, during which she will arrange the logistics and agenda for the Chinese delegation's visit. The anticipated meetings include discussions with the top leaders of the Communist Party as well as Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

This visit assumes significant importance in further strengthening the bilateral ties between Nepal and China. Additionally, there are plans for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's visit to China scheduled for September, further indicating the growing momentum in the engagement between the two countries.

Notably, as Nepal continues to witness visits from Indian and US leaders, the number of high-level Chinese delegations visiting Nepal has also witnessed an increase in recent times.
