MAHOTTARI/SIRAHA, June 10: Five children were among the seven affected by heat wave as temperatures soared as much as 42 degrees in eastern part of the country for the past two days.
Five school children of Chandra Secondary School fainted during their class hours in Lahan of Siraha. The children are undergoing treatment at Siraha District hospital.
Likewise, an intense heat wave due to soaring 42 degree Celsius temperature in Mahottari claimed one life while two others are undergoing treatment at Gaushala Primary Health Post.
The deceased, Sikal Devi Sada, 40 succumbed to death on the way to Gaushala Primary Health Post. Two of her five accompanies, Sundar Devi Sada, 60 and Kisun Devi Sada, 30 are being treated at the health post, according to the health post’s in-charge, Manoj Das. The incident took place in the fields during sowing seeds.
The deceased was a mother to five children, and only yesterday, her husband had migrated to Punjab in India for work.
