Chaudhary, who set national record in long jump on Wednesday and has record of high jump on her own name, bettered her own triple jump record on Thursday during the selection tournament for the upcoming Asian Athletics Championship to be held in Japan in July and World Athletics Championship in August.[break]
Chaudhary jumped 11.67 meters on Thursday. Chaudhary had jumped 11.30 meters in the Fifth National Games to set record on her name and had improved it during the Asian Games Training Camp with a jump of 11.66 meters.
Dil Maya Karki of Nepal APF Club remained 1.67 meters behind Chaudhary on Thursday.
In women´s 10000 meters race, Sonu Jaya Rai (APF) clocked 41 minutes 0.70 seconds to win the event while her teammate Krishneshwari Sinthekala finished it on second position with the timing of 41:34.11.
Hari Kumar Rimal of Nepal Army won men´s 5000 meters with the timing of 15:13.44 while his teammate Kalyan Baniya finished it in 15 minutes 13.69 seconds.
Tilak Ram Tharu (NPC) clocked 49.31 seconds in men´s 400 meters sprint and finished it on the top. Sidhanta Adhikari from same club remained on the second spot with the timing of 50.20 seconds.
In women´s 400 meters, Pramila Rijal Chaudhary of APF completed the sprint in 59.86 seconds while Manisha Adhikari from Kaski finished it in 1 minute 1.15 seconds.
APF personnel Santosh Shrestha won the men´s 110-meter hurdles as he completed it on 15.90 seconds. Dhirendra Chaudhary of NPC finished it second with the timing of 16.05 seconds.
Tara Bahadur Karki of Army and Amrita Chaudhary of APF won men´s and women´s events discus throw as they covered distance of 39.54 meters and 27.24 meters respectively.
The selection of the athletes will be completed after analyzing performances and Nepal´s participation limitations for the Asian and World Championship.
