SAPTARI, Jan 23: A person was killed during police encounter at Rupani rural municipality today.
Deependra Chaudhary, 30, of Kadarbona, Saptari was killed in retaliatory firing by police on the road which is one kilometer towards south from Rupani Chowk along the Rajbiraj-Rupani road section, informed Rajendra Bista, Superintendant of Police (SP) at Saptari District Police Office.

Chaudhary had opened fire at police when the latter attempted to stop him in course of security screening. Pillion rider Chaudhary died in a retaliatory firing from police, Bista shared. However, the motorbike rider managed to escape the firing.
Bista further informed that police also recovered a hand-made pistol from Chaudhary. Police have suspected Chaudhary’s involvement in launching armed attack on police constable Mahendra Satara Yadav at Bisanpur Police Post on last January 16. RSS
