KATHMANDU, June 7: Chandeshwari Academy and Lord Buddha Institute have become the champion of the First Lumbini Futsal Tournament on Thursday.
In the boys’ final played at the Futsal Ground of Lumbini College in Chuchchepati, Chandeshwari defeated Lord Buddha 2-1, while Lord Buddha beat Arora Foundation ‘A’ 1-0 in girls’ final to win the tournament.

Arora became third in boys’ category, while Student FC stood third in girls event.
Chandeshwari’s Pemba Theng was named the player of the tournament in boys’ category, and Lord Buddha’s Preeti Rai was adjudged the best player among the girls.
Likewise, in boys’ category, Lord Buddha’s Sushan Khadka and Saroj Shrestha became the best goalkeeper and the best defender respectively, and Arora B’s Sujata Bishwash and Arora A’s Sabitri Sunuwar were adjudged the best goalkeeper and the best defender respectively.
The winners of both categories will get a full scholarship for their +2 education from Lumbini College.
A total of 70 teams—62 boys and seven girls—participated in the tournament, which started on Friday.
