Although parties have agreed to go for election under 11-point agreement, they have disputes on vote threshold and candidacy of a person convicted for crimes, among others.

However, the discussion could not reach to conclusion and no agreement was reached. Top leaders informed Regmi that efforts were on for consensus and they needed more discussion among themselves.

Chairman Regmi, however, urged leaders to reach to consensus very soon.

Regmi´s Press Advisor Bimal Gautam, said Regmi urged them to come by finalizing disputed issues very soon.

Coordinator of UDMF Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar said that the parties are near to agreement in the issue of proportional representation but they have not reached the meeting point about threshold. The UDMF and UCPN-Maoist are against the threshold whereas CPN-UML and Nepali Congress are in favor of threshold. Chairman Regmi has given time until Sunday for consensus, and it would be discussed with chairman of the election government and ministers, said Gachchhadar.

The parties are theoretically agreed to hold the election according to 11-point agreement and 25-point order on removing difficulties, but some technical issues remain to be addressed to create environment for all parties to participate in the election, he added.

Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) Chairman Mahantha Thakur said that parties are near to the legal arrangements, threshold and proportional issues for the election and will reach agreement very soon.
