KATHMANDU, Aug 14: President of Nepal Pariwar Dal Ek Nath Dhakal held a meeting with Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi at the latter's office in Myanmar recently.
The duo discussed various matters including the outcomes of the Asia Pacific Summit held in Kathmandu last year, according to a press release issued by Dhakal's secretariat.
On the occasion, Suu Kyi mentioned the ongoing peace process in Myanmar. She stressed the need for collective efforts for promoting global peace and humanity.
Stating that the Asia Pacific Summit gave a positive message for the promotion of global peace and brotherhood, she shared that it was a matter of pleasure for her to participate in the summit held in Kathmandu.
Dhakal, who is also the former minister of Nepal, is currently the Asia-Pacific President of International Association of Parliamentarian for Peace. He held meetings with leaders from various countries recently.
