The teachers said the oldest bank of the country failed to repay cash though they had been waiting for withdrawal for the last seven days.

The bank has been making payment of only the checks that are worth not more than Rs 5,000 for the last one week, stating that the central bank has failed to release the amount as demanded by it.
“We brought the operation of the bank to a grinding halt on Tuesday because the bank has put us in serious trouble. We will be compelled to padlock it from Wednesday if the bank does not resolve the problem immediately,” Narayan Sharma, district president of Nepal Teachers´ Association, told myrepublica.com.
The agitating teachers have also drawn the attention of Chief District Officer Bharat Paudel about the shortage of cash in the eve of the Dashain festival.

The government releases salary of teachers in every four months. Teachers are waiting the government to dispatch their salary of four months plus Dashain allowance worth salary of a month. District Education Office, Baglung, has already dispatched Rs 120 million for the salary and allowance of teachers.
The problem is not limited in Baglung alone. People are facing the same problem in neighboring Parbat district.
